Prize draw terms

These are the rules for the Tandem prize draws running at the University of Warwick in autumn 2026. There are eight, three for a £50 gift card, one more £50 gift card for sending us feedback, three for a referral pair (a £25 gift card each) and one for an iPad. Tandem is free to download and free to use, and there is nothing to buy to enter any of them.

1. Who can enter

You must be a student at the University of Warwick, aged 18 or over, resident in Great Britain, and have a Tandem account.
Staff of Tandem Uni App Ltd, test accounts and the Tandem Team administrator account cannot enter.
One person cannot enter twice by holding more than one account.

2. The £50 draws

Three separate draws, each for one £50 Amazon gift card, on Friday 2 October, Friday 16 October and Friday 30 October 2026.

Everyone who has signed up for Tandem and meets section 1 is entered in every draw whose cut-off comes after their account was verified. Signing up is the only thing you have to do.
The cut-off for each draw is 12.00 midday UK time on the day of that draw. An account verified before then is in that draw and in every later one.
One entry per person per draw.
One person can win one of these three £50 gift cards. A winner is not entered in the remaining £50 draws in this section, and stays in the feedback draw, the referral pair draws and the iPad draw as normal.
Accounts created before 21 September 2026 are not in the £50 draws. They can enter the feedback draw, the referral pair draws and the iPad draw in the normal way.

3. The iPad draw

One iPad, one winner. The entry window runs from Monday 21 September 2026 to Saturday 31 October 2026 at 23.59 UK time.

When a friend joins Tandem using your referral code and then RSVPs to an event inside the window, you both get one entry. The RSVP has to be made before that event starts, so an RSVP to an event that has already happened does not count.
You get one entry for every friend who joins with your code and RSVPs. There is no limit.
Entries never pass up the chain. If a friend you brought in brings in someone else, that entry belongs to your friend and not to you.
An RSVP made inside the window still counts if it is withdrawn later.
If the friend deletes their Tandem account before the draw, both entries from that referral fall away.
The draw takes place on Monday 2 November 2026 and the winner is announced on Friday 6 November 2026.

4. The £25 referral pair draws

Three separate draws, on Friday 16 October, Friday 23 October and Friday 30 October 2026. In each one we pick one referral at random, and the person who shared the code and the friend who joined with it each get a £25 Amazon gift card.

A referral counts for these draws once the friend has joined Tandem using your code and verified their account. The friend does not need to RSVP to anything.
Each referral is in one draw only, the first draw whose cut-off comes after the friend's account was verified. The cut-off for each draw is 12.00 midday UK time on the day of that draw. The first draw, on 16 October, covers every referral made since Monday 21 September 2026.
Every referral is one entry. If three friends join with your code before the same cut-off, you are in that draw three times, once with each friend.
One person can win one £25 gift card across these three draws, whichever side of the referral they were on. If we pick a referral that includes someone who has already won one, we pick again.
Entries never pass up the chain, the same as the iPad draw. If a friend you brought in brings in someone else, that referral belongs to your friend and not to you.
If either person deletes their Tandem account before the draw, that referral falls away.
Each £25 is its own prize, so if one of the two has not replied within 14 days, only that £25 is drawn again.
These draws are separate from the £50 draws, the feedback draw and the iPad draw. Winning here does not affect your place in those, and winning one of those does not affect your place here. The same referral still earns an iPad entry for you both once the friend RSVPs to an event, as section 3 describes.
Accounts created before 21 September 2026 can enter by sharing their code. Referrals made before 21 September 2026 are not in these draws.

5. The feedback draw

One £50 Amazon gift card, one winner, drawn on Friday 16 October 2026.

To enter, fill in the Tandem feedback form between Tuesday 6 October and 23.59 on Wednesday 14 October 2026 UK time, and give the email address you signed up to Tandem with. That is your entry. You also need to meet section 1.
What you say makes no difference. Every form sent with the email on a Tandem account is one entry, whatever the answers, blank ones included. You are never asked to rate or review Tandem on the App Store or Google Play to enter, and doing so makes no difference.
One entry per person. Sending the form again does not add entries, and an email that appears more than once counts once.
This draw is separate from the three £50 draws in section 2, the referral pair draws and the iPad draw. Winning here does not affect your place in those, and winning one of those does not affect your place here. Accounts created before 21 September 2026 can enter.
We use the email you give only to check that you have a Tandem account and meet section 1, to contact you if you win, and, if you ticked the box asking for it, to invite you to a short chat. Never for marketing. Your answers are read by the Tandem team to improve the app.

6. How winners are picked and contacted

Winners are picked at random from all entries that meet these rules.
We contact each winner using the email address on their Tandem account.
If a winner has not replied within 14 days, we draw again and that prize goes to someone else.
Prizes cannot be exchanged for cash and cannot be transferred to anyone else.
To find out who won, email contact@tandemuniapp.com within one month of the draw and we will send you the winner's first name.

7. Free entry

Entry is free. Tandem costs nothing to download, nothing to use, and no purchase of any kind improves your chances.

8. Apple and Google

These draws are run by Tandem Uni App Ltd alone. Apple is not a sponsor and is not involved in them in any way, and neither is Google.

9. Your data

To run the draws we use the account details you gave us when you signed up, the referral code you typed in, the events you RSVP to, and the email you give on the feedback form. We contact winners by email. Everything else about how we handle your data is in our Privacy Policy.

10. Other things worth saying

If something outside our control makes a draw impossible to run as written, we may change these rules or cancel a draw, and we will say so on this page.
Our decision on eligibility and on who has won is final, and we may ask a winner to show they are a Warwick student aged 18 or over before we send a prize.
These rules are governed by the law of England and Wales.
